You Just Can't Win

Politics is always funny to me. If you don't disclose something, you get attacked; if you do disclose something, you get attacked. All of this Sarah Palin drama is a great example.

When someone runs for president or vice president, they will be picked apart without a doubt. It's just how the media and opposing political parties work. Despite the fact that it's tiresome for basically everyone except those doing the attacking, it is nonstop throughout the election season. Alaska governor and GOP VP pick, Sarah Palin, has come under scrutiny for being honest. Weird.

Her family released a statement regarding her pregnant teenage daughter. It was going to surface whether they brought it up first or not. Of course people started jumping down her throat about it: "How could she bring her daughter into this?' Lindsay Lohan (naturally one of the first people someone would go to for political commentary :rolls eyes:) attacked her for bringing it up as well. Once again, I repeat: it would have been revealed in time anyway Coming from what I've learned so far in my PR education, disclosure is ever-so-important. So I think it's a good thing that Palin was honest about it and got it out there.

Apparently her party also just released a picture of her in her college years wearing a shirt that read, "I may be broke, but I'm not flat busted." Another disclosure move that I thought was the right one.

Why wait and have someone else draw attention to these things and make it seem like you were hiding it?

Just goes to show, in politics it's always lose-lose.
